GOOD LUCK WITH NEW HOTEL
UNFORTUNATELY THE HOTEL HAD ONLY JUST BEEN COMPLETED (AND THE ADJOINING AREA STILL A CONSTRUCTION SITE). WHEN WE ARRIVED AND HAD TROUBLE GETTING THERE FROM THE STATION IN THE RAIN WITH OUR BAGS.
WHEN WE REQUESTED UMBRELLAS THERE WERE NONE AVAILABLE.
WE HAD TO SHIFT ROOMS TWICE AS THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THINGS IN OUR ROOMS.
WE HAD STAYED BEFORE AT THE GOLDEN TULIP ACROSS THE ROAD WHICH WAS VERY CONVENIENT.
I THINK THE ROOMS ARE MORE FOR BUSINESS PEOPLE RATHER THAN SOMEONE ON HOLIDAYS. YOUR OLD HOTEL HAD A VERY GOOD MEAL DEAL.

Teething problems
One of the principal reasons I booked this hotel was the advertised availability of internet access. However, after several unsuccessful tries , I was told by reception that the internet wasn't working yet because the new building had only been open for 4 days. There was no real apology until I pointed out that internet access was crucial for running my business, and that this was a serious inconvenience. To be fair, the duty manager tried very hard to get me some access, including letting me into his office. There was some access at the old building across the street, but only at limited times. I was offered no compensation at all for the inconvenience.

Everything we wanted!
What an excellent hotel!! -free parking, free internet access, lovely, comfortable room and spotlessly clean bathroom. Brilliant location for the station into Amsterdam and friendly, helpful staff with easy conversation in English. The only criticism I had was there was no milk or sugar on occasion for the tea / coffee facility. It seems a shame to think that this hotel will soon be demolished to make way for the new one opposite (which looks amazing). I've stayed in a few hotels that should have been demolished but this one was fabulous. Well done Golden Tulip!!! Have stayed in The Golden Tulip, Zaandam, on several occasions now.
We arrived just after 10pm after a delayed flight and even though we called ahead were unable to dine in the restaurant.
We did however dine in the bar and the food and service was very good.
The building work outside the hotel woke us all up very early in the morning.
The breakfast service and food was poor - the food was cold and looked as though it had been reheated several times.
Overall score for food quality - 2 fair - 1 poor for the breakfast and 4 very good for the bar food. Have stayed in The Golden Tulip, Zaandam, on several occasions now.

Tulip Hotel in Zaandam.
I was woken at 6a.m. with the building work across the street, make sure you get a room on the other side away from room 106.

Overnachting 06.02.10
Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kamers iets aan de kleine kant maar was verder geen probleem, was alleen maar om te slapen. Eten (kleine kaart) was lekker alleen een beetje weinig.

verblijf op 29 en 30 dec 2009
Aan de positieve kant:zeer vriendelijk onthaal en gunstige ligging om met openbaar vervoer naar Amsterdam te gaan. Enige minpunt: geluid van het verkeer dringt sterk door tot op de kamers aan de straatkant.
